I haven’t written in months – been too busy in the gardens in my yard and in my home. Summer has flown by with its typical alacrity and now we are passing into Autumn.
I have been full with things that I’ve been wanting to write – about my gardens and all the things I’ve been learning this summer through the work and play in them. Writing is just usually the last thing that gets my time.
I’m back today.
There is far too much ground to till for someone who has never heard of Vision Forum, Doug Phillips, Scott Brown or Patriarchy. But there is plenty on the Internet for the savvy (and patient) researcher to be busy with a pot of tea and their computer for a while.
It comes as no surprise to me that the Phillipies, Brownies and Vision Forumites were quick to condemn Sarah Palin as a heretic here, here and here.
My eyebrows did go up upon reading that Gov. Palin is guilty of witchcraft.
But I was truly astonished that the self-appointed #1 Reformer against Gossip, Slander, Backbiting and Divisiveness amongst True Christians would prove himself guilty of all these by publishing his own private letter in which he claims that the Bride of our Lord Jesus Christ has lost 50 IQ points. This is because some of its members do not interpret Scripture the way that Elder Doug Phillips does. (Sorry – you will have to wade through quite a bit of that reference to get to citation # 7, which is the private letter from Doug Phillips to possibly Bill Einwechter.)
As Mr. Meloff pointed out, if we start with an average IQ of 100, what does a drop of 50 points mean? What is Phillips really trying to say? Does a “guardian of the Scriptures” really want to say such things about Christ’s Beloved Bride?
I mentioned to Mr. Meloff that if I was DP, I would make sure I had lightening rods firmly affixed to the roof of my dwelling. To which he replied, “Where is that hurricane headed?”
